Emma's Design Tips - Mixing Different Timber Types Myth Busting

Emma's Design Tips - Mixing Different Timber Types Myth Busting

A common misconception raised with our customer is, they cant mix different timber types and stains together.

The answer is, yes you can!

Generally you can add up to three to - four different timber types and stain finishes into one given area and throughout the home. Trends are to mix it up!. Its versatility can be used for almost any purpose which can really personalise your interior space.

For example. If you already have a light dining table, say Tasmanian oak, and you want to add a buffet then you dont have to try and match the timber to the table. As dark timber colours are making a comeback this year, you can go with one of our selected buffets and have it stained a graphite colour or another colour of your choice?. You could also pair this with dark painted doors and drawers? This will add contrast and depth and is a easy solution to match the old with the new.!

To complete the overall look add our black dining chairs, for a timeless feel. (Note, if you have timber floors this will help break up all the timber colours too)

Timber trends develop and change all the time so there are no real fast rules, just some colour guidelines to follow. Just dont match everything! I would say just go with what you like and your best feeling of judgement. To create an interesting interior and to bring everything together, I would say do your research, and we can help you with the rest.
