Look Good in Leather!

There is a lot to consider when choosing a covering for your sofa. Leather is a practical upholstery choice and better yet, gives your living room a clean, modern look!

Look Good in Leather

We design furniture to meet your lifestyle’s needs, which is why we love leather for busy mums and pet owners. Leather is beyond easy to clean. If there are any messy spills from little ones, just grab a damp cloth and wipe. There’s no need for soaps and chemicals that can potentially damage your sofa. The same goes for four legged hair shedders. Fabric covered sofas collect animal fur that is almost impossible to remove without a lot of effort and vacuuming. But a simple wipe on leather removes pet hair easily.

There isn’t just one type of leather for everyone. There are three main types of leather to suit different needs. The most common leather is Corrected Grain. Around 90% of leather in Australia is Corrected Grain. That’s because it is highly durable, available in a huge variety of colours, super easy to clean and embossed with an artificial patterned grain, which provides a uniform finish. It’s a great choice for families with little ones.

Pure Aniline (Full Grain) is leather that has been drum dyed without pigment applied to the surface. It shows all of the natural features and characteristics of scars and growth marks. Pure Aniline will need regular care and cleaning if it’s used often and is great for furniture tailoring.

Finally, there is Semi Aniline (Full Grain), a drum dyed leather with only a small amount of pigment so that the natural characteristics of the hide aren’t hidden. It is much more durable than the Pure Aniline but has a more natural look than Corrected Grain. The softest leather is Pure Aniline but this isn’t far off it, plus it’s surface keeps well.
