What do you do at Lifestyle Furniture?

I’m the Visual Merchandiser for O’Connor, Willetton and Osborne Park stores. I’ve been with Lifestyle Furniture for the past 16 years.

How long have you been in the industry?

I’ve been in the industry for 32 years. I first started out at Marks & Spencers as a junior furniture buyer where I was trained as an Interior Decorator and Visual Merchandiser.

From there I immigrated to Australia and found a position at David Jones as an antique buying in training which meant I had to study antiquity for the next 7 years. I was there for ten years before moving to Perth. And here I found my current position at Lifestyle Furniture!

What made you get into this industry/ makes you excited about your work?

I started out working as a florist through the family business and from there I realised I could take my decorating in a different direction.

I love the process of buying too decorating from season to season and the challenges and diversity that the day to day brings. With each season it brings its own story and colours which I can present to the public through the shop.

What do you do to wind down?

I work out. I box four mornings a week at 6am to clear my head. As boring as it may sound, I love to spend time with my family and friends.

Whats something people may not know about you?

I absolutely love traveling to Bali and the beaches there. In fact, I love the beach so much I’m planning on building my dream house on it in Port Coogee.
