Think outside The Block!

Think outside The Block!

Wish you were a Blockhead but don’t have the funds? Don’t worry we are here to help. Here at Lifestyle Furniture our guilty pleasure is watching The Block Glasshouse. If you’re a Blockaholic like us then you may have been hit recently with renovation inspiration.

The Block

The downfall when it comes to renovating is it can cost a fortune, but just making a few small enhancing modifications to a room, can match a structural renovation. By following some of our tips and tricks we can help you transform a room with minimal effort and expense.

1) Break it down

Don’t overwhelm yourself by renovating your entire home; break it into manageable tasks by breaking it into rooms and then jobs within the rooms. We recommend starting with the main bedroom.

2) Smaller but bigger

Small changes can make a huge difference to the appearance of your bedroom and can also save some much-needed funds; varnish doors instead of replacing them, resurface old cabinets, replace door handles and add a fresh coat of paint.

3) Plan storage space

There’s nothing more disappointing than finishing your renovations and finding you don’t have enough storage space, think about how much storage you need before you design your room. We can provide you with plenty of furniture options to store your possessions.

4) Get creative

Experiment with accessories such as cushions, which can instantly change the atmosphere of a bedroom. At Lifestyle Furniture we can provide you with artwork, bed linens, lamps and other finishing’s that add life to your room and come at little cost.

5) Don’t do it by yourself

We have an interior designer that does an in home consult and can put together a package to suit your bedroom, if you need help deciding on style, colour, finish or need help with furniture placement.

Winners of The Block’s Glasshouse guest bedroom Shannon & Simon were dubbed ‘the masters of detail’ proving it’s not about how much money you put into renovating but how much time you spend on the little things.

Why not head to your nearest Lifestyle Furniture location and shop the look of their (and our) great bedroom with our cushions, throws and accessories.
