Choosing the right rug for your home

Choosing the right rug for your home

For Lifestyle Furniture the right rug adds the finished layer, but first, it must be well considered in design, colour, texture and size. Layering of furnishings is a must in any interior giving a room life and personality. Rugs do just that, they complete a room, adding interest, softness whilst grounding a space and zoning. The style of rug should also connect with the rest of the room, in a neutral colour or similar shades and patterns to present a cohesive interaction from soft furnishings to accessories.

As our Australian climate and relaxed lifestyle demand a rug that goes from cold winters to sweltering hot summer nights without change, our go to for the every day, is Weave Rugs. Made from a combination of mixed blends; New Zealand wool, cotton, jute and or viscose, each rug is unique from a hand made construction. A strong cotton backing and edging is applied for longevity for everyday wear.

Weave Rugs cover all types of interior styles. From contemporary, modern, transitional to coastal these will offer inspiration and quality from room to room. The Makalu a contemporary design offered in 3 colour ways, is reminiscent from the traditional Berber carpets. Its thick loop pile yarn is feathered in light and dark shades with a repetitive diamond pattern adding extra interest. Made from 70% Himalayan wool and 30% cotton, its generous pile is soft underfoot and best in living rooms and bedrooms.

The Laila a modern design is uniquely space dyed with tones of ecru through to eucalyptus and granite. A hand woven rug that varies with each piece, is made of wool with the warp polyester threads holding it in place. This design has no formal structure creating this natural organic pattern. Suitable for high traffic areas like dining rooms and entrances where you would like to create depth of colour and contrast.

Offering a handwoven appeal, the Andes is a layered rib design adding strength and stability for everyday living. Not imposing on colour, this range would be ideal for that laid back interior. Coastal, Hampton's, beach cottage, or an apartment where layering is needed but doesn't require a lot of attention. Made from 50% wool and 50% cotton this rugs colour way is undyed creating that warmth and classic look.

Our most popular rug, Mitre. Its super thick weave and chunky raised diamond pattern is for people who want movement and detail without loads of colour. All Weave Rugs are hand made by artisans so each rug is unique. Measuring 200 cm x 300 cm, we offer rugs that are ideal for all areas of the home.
